Introduction of Radio in India
Radio broadcasting began in nineteen twenty-three when the Radio Club of Bombay made the first-ever transmission.
In nineteen twenty-seven, the Indian Broadcasting Company was established in Bombay, now Mumbai, and Calcutta, now Kolkata. It was a private entity tasked with providing regular radio services.
Despite initial enthusiasm, the Indian Broadcasting Company faced financial difficulties and was liquidated in nineteen thirty.
