EARLY CALCULATING DEVICES
· The Abacus (circa two thousand seven hundred BC): One of the very first tools for performing arithmetic, used for centuries across different cultures.
· Pascal's Calculator (sixteen forty-two): Blaise Pascal created a mechanical calculator using gears and wheels to perform addition and subtraction.
· Leibniz Wheel (sixteen seventy-three): Gottfried Leibniz improved on Pascal's design, creating a machine that could also perform multiplication and division.
