The Love for Human Life - The 5th Commandment: "You shall not kill."
The Love for Human Life - The 5th Commandment: "You shall not kill."
"You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, 'You shall not murder'; and 'whoever murders shall be liable to judgement.' But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable ..."
Instead of just getting through the day, ask yourself: "What do I get from the day?"
"The value of life is not in the length of days, but in the way we make use of them; a man may live long yet very little."
This statement means that many people focus only on monetary cost (money) and fail to appreciate deeper values that cannot be measured in money, such as human character and virtues.
Examples of human character and virtues:
One. Integrity - Doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It cannot be bought, sold, or faked.
Two. Honesty and Trust - The foundation of relationships. It takes years to build but can be destroyed in seconds.
Three. Courage - The ability to face fear or stand up for principles despite possible negative consequences.
Four. Humility - The absence of arrogance, allowing a person to appreciate others regardless of their social or financial status.
The Value of Life
The Value of Life
In this world, God gave human life to His noblest creature. It is the greatest gift because through life, humanity has achieved all the progress we see today.
However, life is not in perfect peace. Because of original sin, humans experience envy and hatred. Sometimes people fall into violence and killing, similar to what Cain did to Abel.
The story of Cain and Abel shows different responses to life's challenges.
A good response includes:
One. Develop your personal truth - Take responsibility for your life by honestly confronting weaknesses, accepting meaningful challenges, and aligning your actions with deeply examined values so your life becomes purposeful.
Two. Act consistently with your personal truth - Behave in ways that align with your examined beliefs and values so that your words and actions match, avoiding self-deception and resentment.
