Capitalism and Communism: A Complete Political Theory Compendium

Tracing the roots, evolution, characteristics, major ideologues, and structural logic of the two ideas that divided the modern world

The Master Argument - Before We Begin

These are not merely economic systems. They are complete theories of human nature, history, justice, and destiny. Capitalism begins with the individual and builds society around protecting individual freedom. Communism begins with society and builds the individual around collective liberation. Every disagreement between them - about property, labour, the state, freedom, equality - flows from this single foundational divergence.

To understand them properly you must trace each through four layers:

One. its philosophical roots,

Two. its classical theorisation,

Three. its institutional form, and

Four. its real-world application.

That is what follows.

Part One - Capitalism

One point two. Adam Smith and the Classical Foundation

One point three. The Evolution of Capitalist Theory - Four Stages

Stage One: Classical Liberalism of seventeen seventy-six to eighteen eighties

Stage Two: Marginalism and Neoclassical Economics of eighteen eighties to nineteen thirties

Stage Three: Keynesian Capitalism of nineteen thirties to nineteen seventies

Stage Four: Neoliberalism of nineteen seventies to present

One point four. The Core Architecture of Capitalism - Structural Features

PART TWO - COMMUNISM

Two point two. Marx and Engels - The Full System

Two point three. The Post-Marx Evolution - How Communism Developed and Fractured

Lenin and Vanguardism, nineteen zero two

Trotsky and Permanent Revolution

Stalin and Actually Existing Socialism

Gramsci and Cultural Hegemony

Mao and the Peasant Revolution

PART THREE - The Direct Confrontation: The Ten Essential Disagreements

Disagreement One: Human Nature

Disagreement Two: Freedom

Disagreement Three: Equality

Disagreement Four: The Role of the State

History's direction

PART FIVE - The Head-to-Head: The Same Five Examples Analysed Through Both Lenses

Example One: The Factory

Example Two: The Two Thousand Eight Financial Crisis

Example Three: Healthcare

Example four: Amazon and the Gig Economy

Example five: China nineteen seventy-eight to present

The Master Synthesis: Why Neither Fully Won

Why did Marx believe capitalism would inevitably collapse?

The Foundation: Value and Exploitation

The First Contradiction: Competition Forces Self-Destruction

The Foundation: Value and Exploitation

Contradiction Two: Overproduction and the Demand Collapse
