"For our background, emerging adulthood is a stage with many transitions in school, work, and personal life. According to Rod et al. twenty twenty-five and Arnett twenty twenty-three, it is an unstable stage with many changes.
In this stage, friendship plays a big role as emotional support, according to Apostolou twenty twenty-one.
But not all friendships last. Due to changing priorities, work, and social circumstances, friendship loss happens - it can be gradual distancing, disagreement, or intentional break, according to Vieth and Santucci.
And this loss causes loneliness, grief, and ambiguous grief. According to Mejia twenty twenty-six and Forsythia twenty twenty-five, you grieve not just the person but also the shared history and memories, even if the person is still alive but no longer part of your life in the same way. That is why we chose this topic."
